The microprocessor will automatically
determine expiratory time and inspiratory flow rate based on these
preset parameters within the limits of the equipment (maximum
inspiratory flow rate 900L/min and minimum expiratory time 0.5s).
Other ventilation controls include user‐defined assist mode and
CPAP/PEEP. There is also a dump valve button that functions as an
electronic pop‐off or spill valve found on conventional ventilators
and a buffer volume button used to determine the size of the
‘virtual’ reservoir bag.
